Revolutionary Move: Experience Waymo’s Cutting-Edge Driverless Taxis in Santa Monica

Waymo’s self-driving cars are embarking on a journey through Los Angeles.

Their first destination? Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade.

After extensive testing, Waymo, the Silicon Valley-based autonomous vehicle company, has officially launched Waymo One, its 24/7 robotaxi service, to the public. To try out the service, interested individuals can obtain an activation code either through an in-person pop-up event or by signing up online, with the code providing them with a week of free rides.

Following its debut in Santa Monica, Waymo One will progressively expand to Century City, West Hollywood, Mid-City, Koreatown, and downtown Los Angeles in November.

Autonomous vehicle enthusiasts who had been notified in advance lined up at the Waymo stand in Santa Monica before its opening at 8 a.m. A Waymo product marketing manager, Julianne McGoldrick, confirmed this.
