Rescheduling Alert: Bruce Springsteen’s Philadelphia Concerts Postponed

PHILADELPHIA — Music enthusiasts looking forward to the concert at Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park with Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will have to wait. The legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame singer announced on social media that he was postponing his Wednesday and Friday shows due to illness.

No specific details were provided about the nature of Springsteen’s illness. However, it was stated that efforts were underway to reschedule the concerts.

The tweet from Springsteen reassured fans that their tickets would still be valid for the rescheduled shows.

This setback comes after Springsteen recently started the second leg of his U.S. tour with two successful performances in Chicago.

According to a concert promoter, Springsteen sought medical attention an hour before he was expected to arrive at the venue. The shows on Wednesday and Friday were then postponed based on the advice of the doctor.

While the parking lots around Citizens Bank Park were closed off, a merchandise tent was still open for business. Fans expressed understanding but also disappointment.

“I tried getting here early to park and get some merch and head to South Philly for dinner and some of the parking attendants told me the show is postponed and I was a little bit stunned,” said Tom Lamaina of Voorhees, New Jersey.

“I’m not going to lie, this one hurts, it hurts,” said Sharon McGee. “We’ve been down here since 9 a.m., it’s been a long hot day and, I don’t know, I was ready for it.”

Rescheduled dates for the concerts have yet to be announced.
