Report: Taylor Swift Declines Meghan Markle’s Invitation to Appear on Podcast

Taylor Swift declined an invitation to be a guest on Meghan Markle’s podcast, despite receiving a personal letter from the Duchess of Sussex herself. This rejection was reported by the Wall Street Journal, following the news that Spotify and Markle failed to reach an agreement on launching a second season of the podcast. The Duchess had reached out to Swift, but the singer respectfully declined through a representative. The Wall Street Journal also highlighted the challenges faced by Markle and Prince Harry in producing successful shows and content for Netflix through their production company, Archewell. Their business venture in Los Angeles has not met with great success outside of their personal stories. One of their projects, “Archetypes,” was canceled due to a disagreement between Markle and Netflix. Additionally, an animated children’s show called “Pearl” was also canceled by Netflix, and two other show ideas were reportedly rejected. Netflix does not plan to renew their deal with Harry and Meghan, which is set to run through 2025. Both Spotify and Netflix have expressed concerns about the couple’s lack of productivity. According to sources, the shows proposed by Harry and Meghan were deemed too similar to existing successful shows on Netflix, leading to their rejection. However, Archewell remains optimistic about their future endeavors, stating that they are now more equipped, focused, and energized than ever before. Netflix has also expressed its commitment to the partnership with Archewell and will continue collaborating on projects together.
