Remembering the Late Jake Abraham: Celebrated Star of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Passes Away at 56

The news of Jake Abraham’s passing has been confirmed by his publicist. The actor, known for his role in the 1998 gangster film, “Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels,” passed away at his home in Liverpool after bravely battling cancer.

Surrounded by loved ones, Jake Abraham left this world. He will be missed dearly. Those who knew him describe him as a beautiful, funny, and compassionate human being.

Born in Liverpool, Abraham played the character Dean in “Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels,” a film written and directed by Guy Ritchie.

Apart from his role in the gangster film, Abraham also appeared in the 1991 Channel 4 show “GBH” and the 2001 film “Mean Machine,” where he once again starred alongside his “Lock, Stock” co-star Vinnie Jones.

Abraham openly shared his prostate cancer diagnosis with the Liverpool Echo in July, informing his fans that he was undergoing palliative care.

Paying tribute to Abraham’s life, Bill Elms, a Liverpool theatre director and producer who had the honor of working with the actor on several occasions, expressed his fond memories of Jake. Elms described him as a wonderful actor, a great company member, and someone who was deeply loved and respected within the industry. Elms also admired Abraham for his courage in sharing his illness publicly, recognizing the impact it could have on others.

Abraham revealed that he was diagnosed with cancer after a prolonged period of feeling unwell. He acknowledged pushing through the symptoms of fatigue, lack of energy, and body aches before seeking medical help. It was the passing of blood in his urine that prompted him to undergo a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test, which led to the cancer diagnosis. Unfortunately, doctors informed him that the cancer had already spread to other parts of his body and he had been living with it for approximately four years.
