Recap of Season 2, Episode 10: “And Just Like That…”

In trying to comprehend Nya’s reasoning behind purchasing an expensive gift for her ex, Andre, and his new partner, I find myself perplexed. While I understand that it could be seen as a display of wealth and success, I personally wouldn’t acknowledge such a relationship, especially if we haven’t even reached the stage of discussing our new partners and our lives after divorce. Why would I spend any money on you and your future? Absolutely not. Miranda deserves praise for closing her laptop before making that purchase. Additionally, when Nya expressed her desire to cut off her exes like Miranda, I related to that sentiment. — Erin

I completely agree with you, Erin. Initially, I was thinking the same thing as Miranda: “Close that laptop, Nya! Walk away! You don’t owe him anything!” However, I did derive some satisfaction from seeing Nya get one last jab in, asserting that she shouldn’t be messed with because she’s a successful professor at Columbia Law School with discretionary income. Perhaps this is one of those scenarios that would be unwise in real life, but in the context of a show like this, it’s highly entertaining to watch. The confidence! The drama! — Marina

I also found Nya’s decision to be quite peculiar, but if it brings her some sense of satisfaction, then go for it! I loved the dynamic between her and Miranda in this scene. The back-and-forth between them was captivating. — Curtis
