Health Canada is urging parents to discontinue using certain styles of boys’ and girls’ baby sleepers sold at Walmart between the fall of last year and the summer of this year.
The recall affects George brand sleepers in sizes 0-5T. There are two specific styles for both boys and girls, identified by the style numbers GRS30400IB, GRS30400TB, GRS30400IG, and GRS30400TG.
The George brand sleepers may pose choking and ingestion hazards as the zipper pulls and foot grips can fall off or be removed through repeated washing.
These sleepers were sold from November 2022 to June 2023.
Health Canada advises consumers to immediately stop using the recalled sleepers and check the style number printed on the collar to determine if their purchase is impacted by the recall.
Affected sleepers can be returned to Walmart stores for a full refund.
While a total of 216,595 sleepers were sold across the country, Walmart has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the sleepers as of September 21.
