“Money Can’t Buy You Class” — or success on The Masked Singer, for that matter! Wednesday marked One-Hit Wonders Night on the show, introducing a new Season 10 bracket of mystery celebrities in Group C. However, one of those contestants, Hibiscus, also known as the artist formerly known as Countess Luann, Luann de Lesseps, was eliminated after her one-and-done performance of the Weather Girls’ disco hit “It’s Raining Men” wilted.
Although Luann, who previously scored a viral hit in 2010 with “Money Can’t Buy You Class” and regularly performs in her own cabaret show, didn’t sound terrible, she just couldn’t compete with Group C’s other celebrity cosplayers. And with that, I introduce you to the intriguing, bursty guessing games for Group C!
The Donut, a strong-sounding performer, showcased a big and booming tone during their performance of “Hooked on a Feeling.” Judges praised the Donut’s classic voice, and the unique visual clues suggested a story of overcoming hardship in their career, creating a puzzle for the guessing game.
The Anteater, with a robustly soulful cover of “Walking in Memphis,” left the judges impressed and emotional. Visual clues hinted at a career full of highs and lows and an eventual retreat to a simpler life, adding depth and intrigue to their story.
The Candelabra lit up the stage with a fiery cover of Amerie’s “One Thing.” The diva’s performance left the judges in awe, with visual clues suggesting a journey from childhood dreams to stardom.
While it’s all still a mystery, my intriguing guess for the Donut is John Schneider, a talented performer and country musician with a gripping personal story. As for the Anteater, the puzzle points toward the legendary John Oates of Hall & Oates, adding a layer of richness to the guessing game. And finally, the Candelabra seems to hint at the talented Keyshia Cole, a diva with a fiery aura and a compelling background.
As the guessing games continue, the mystique and creativity of The Masked Singer keep us captivated, all while bursting with surprises at every thrilling turn. So, let the guessing games begin anew with Group C!
