Randy Meisner, one of the founding members of the incredibly successful rock band the Eagles, has sadly passed away in Los Angeles at the age of 77, according to an announcement made by the group on Thursday, July 27.
The band released a statement on their website stating that Meisner’s death was due to complications from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Meisner played the bass guitar and was a vocalist for the Eagles, who are known for their numerous hits such as “Hotel California,” “Take It Easy,” and “One of These Nights.” The band’s statement acknowledged Meisner’s significant contributions to their early success, describing him as an integral part of the group and praising his astonishing vocal range, particularly showcased in his signature ballad, “Take It to the Limit.”
