Ramaswamy Set to Reveal his `Foreign Policy Vision’ at Nixon Library

Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy is set to present his comprehensive foreign policy vision, which he describes as a shift from “liberal hegemony to the Modern Monroe Doctrine,” at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum. This event will take place on Thursday evening.

On social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, Ramaswamy wrote, “We will advocate for maintaining the current lines of control, reopening economic relations with Russia, and making a firm commitment that NATO will not admit Ukraine in exchange for Russia ending its military partnership with China. Additionally, we will ask for the removal of nuclear weapons from Kaliningrad and the cessation of its military presence in the Western Hemisphere—a reverse maneuver similar to what Nixon accomplished with Mao in 1972.”

Ramaswamy further outlined his plans by stating, “To deter China from annexing Taiwan, we will transition from strategic ambiguity to strategic clarity. We will defend Taiwan until 2029, after which we aim to achieve full semiconductor independence from Taiwan, significantly reduce economic dependence on China, and strengthen relationships with India, Japan, South Korea. We will also enhance U.S. homeland defense capabilities to safeguard against cyberattacks, super-EMP, and nuclear threats.”

He emphasized a strong stance against any breaches of homeland security or aggression in the Western Hemisphere, asserting, “We will have absolutely zero tolerance for Chinese spy balloons, Chinese spy bases in Cuba, intentional fentanyl poisoning, biological lab leaks, illegal border crossings, or any other encroachments on U.S. territory. Adversaries will face severe consequences.”

The speech at 8 p.m. in Yorba Linda will be streamed live on youtube.com/live/m2Y_0MsHFwI?feature=share.

In addition, Ramaswamy is scheduled to speak at an 11 a.m. fundraising luncheon at Andreis Conscious Cuisine and Cocktails in Irvine. Ticket prices range from $150 to $3,300, the maximum individual contribution limit per election.

Ramaswamy, who celebrated his 38th birthday on August 9, was born and raised in Cincinnati. He graduated summa cum laude in biology from Harvard and received his law degree from Yale Law School. In 2014, he founded Roivant Sciences, a biotechnology company aiming to revolutionize drug development.

During his time as CEO of Roivant Sciences, Ramaswamy oversaw the development of five FDA-approved drugs. He resigned in January 2021 to focus on his presidential campaign while remaining Chairman until February 20.

Ramaswamy is a published author of books such as “Woke, Inc.: Inside Corporate America’s Social Justice Scam,” “Nation of Victims: Identity Politics, the Death of Merit, and the Path Back to Excellence,” and “Capitalist Punishment: How Wall Street is Using Your Money to Create a Country You Didn’t Vote For.”

Announcing his candidacy on February 21 through a 3 1/2-minute video, Ramaswamy said, “We are currently experiencing a national identity crisis. Faith, patriotism, and hard work have diminished, giving way to new secular religions such as COVIDism, climateism, and gender ideology. We yearn to be part of something greater than ourselves, yet we struggle to define what it means to be an American.

“At present, the woke left exploits this uncertainty by promoting the idea that your race, gender, and sexual orientation determine your identity, achievements, and thoughts. This form of psychological slavery has cultivated a culture of fear in our country, replacing our once-prominent culture of free speech.”

Ramaswamy has released a set of 25 policy commitments aimed at advancing the “America First” agenda beyond what was achieved during the Trump administration. These commitments include revitalizing American national identity, reducing taxes and regulation, promoting competition and investment to achieve GDP growth of over 5% annually, declaring independence from communist China, dismantling managerial bureaucracy, and relocating more than 75% of federal employees outside of Washington, among others.

If elected, Ramaswamy would become the youngest president in U.S. history, surpassing Theodore Roosevelt’s age of 42 when he assumed office in 1901 after the assassination of William McKinley. He would also be the first Indian American president and the first Hindu to hold the office.
