Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade introduces new balloon characters
The annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade returned with some favorite characters as well as new balloons, such as Monkey D. Luffy.
NEW YORK – Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade disrupted by protestors highlighting the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
Videos from Fox 5, Newsday, and FreedomNews.TV show protestors interfering with the parade, wearing white jumpsuits, and carrying a banner with the message “Liberation for Palestine and Planet,” piquing an uproar.
Footage captured the demonstration on Sixth Avenue as the parade marched through Midtown Manhattan, revealing a radical display that raised eyebrows.
The Seven Circles Alliance led the demonstration to condemn the “ongoing ethnic cleansing and genocide of Palestinians,” an Instagram post revealed. The NYPD reported several arrests made during these protests.
At the parade, a controversial move saw a member of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe waving a Palestinian flag, prompting clarification from the tribe that the action did not represent their official stance.
Police also arrested an individual for defacing the New York Public Library’s main branch with pro-Palestinian graffiti and red paint splatter during a march, further deepening the controversy surrounding this year’s parade.
