Princess Leonor of Spain Embraces Elegance in Pink Satin Dress for Familial Trip to Watch Barbie at the Cinema, Accompanied by Queen Letizia and Queen Sofia

The global frenzy for the Barbie movie has reached even the Spanish royal family. Queen Letizia, accompanied by her husband King Felipe and their daughters Leonor and Sofia, decided to watch the Margot Robbie film while on holiday in Palma de Mallorca. The family outing showcased their stylish fashion choices, with Leonor donning a silk Barbie pink dress paired with espadrilles, and Sofia opting for a floral dress and wedges. Queen Letizia, renowned for her fashion sense, rocked a casual cool look in blue silk trousers, a white silk shirt, and sandals. Joining them was Queen Sofia, who looked perfect for the summer in a blue patterned dress and wicker bag. Currently on a summer break in Mallorca, the family is temporarily taking a break from their royal duties. As Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia mature into adulthood, they have been stepping into the spotlight.

Princess Leonor, who recently graduated from UWC Atlantic College, also known as “Hippy Hogwarts,” is preparing to start her military training in August. Unlike most of her peers who will attend university, Leonor will begin her training in the armed forces, Spanish navy, and air force. Spanish defense minister Margarita Robles confirmed this plan, expressing the country’s efforts to incorporate women into the armed forces. Princess Leonor’s training will start at the Army Military Academy in Zaragoza, followed by naval school, and finally, the General Air Academy. Once her three years of military training are completed, she will attend university to study law, similar to her father King Felipe’s academic journey.

After graduating from high school in Canada, King Felipe attended the General Military Academy of Zaragoza before pursuing studies at the Naval Military School in Marín. His training also included a stint at the General Air Academy in San Javier and a voyage on the ship Juan Sebastián Elcano. He eventually studied law at the Autonomous University of Madrid.

The Spanish royal family’s outing to the Barbie movie not only showcases their appreciation for popular culture but also highlights their timeless sense of style and their dedication to fulfilling their royal duties. Princess Leonor’s path towards military training and future university studies reflects her father’s footsteps while also representing Spain’s commitment to gender equality in the armed forces.
