During NV’s ‘Ukraine’s Success Formula’ event on Nov. 11, Naftogaz Ukraine board chair Oleksiy Chernyshov detailed the company’s preparations for potential Russian attacks this winter.
The state oil and gas company has undertaken “the maximum preparations that it was able to achieve.”

The Naftogaz CEO elaborated, “Our preparations include fortifications, basic comprehensive protection, physical structures against debris, and other means to counter attacks, including electronic ones.”
“It also entails amassing appropriate energy reserves, particularly fuel and generators for potential blackouts. Consequently, the Naftogaz Group is fully equipped for these scenarios,” he confirmed.
He further highlighted the secure nature of underground gas storage facilities. “It’s the most fortified facility, located three kilometers underground,” he noted.

“However, the ground infrastructure needs joint protection with the Armed Forces and Defense Forces. We are putting in every effort in this respect,” the official emphasized.
Chernyshov also pointed out that the Russians have been gearing up for potential attacks. “The enemy has been preparing all year and considers our preparations technologically,” Chernyshov said.
“We are prepared for the challenges, they are a certainty,” he concluded.
