Aug. 21 (UPI) — The Golden Bachelor and Season 9 of Bachelor in Paradise are set to captivate audiences on ABC this September.
The network recently revealed the highly-anticipated premiere dates for the new Bachelor spinoff series.
Starring 71-year-old Gerry Turner, The Golden Bachelor, a sensational addition to the Bachelor franchise, will make its grand entrance on September 28th at 8 p.m. EDT, airing every Thursday.
Initially planned for a Monday slot after Dancing with the Stars, the broadcast schedule for The Golden Bachelor was changed.
This captivating show follows Gerry Turner, a widower and a loving grandfather, in his quest for a second chance at love after the passing of his beloved wife, Toni. Gerry recently shared on The Bachelorette: The Men Tell All special that he’s hopeful to find his “person” on the show.
“My priorities and desires have evolved over time. At the age of 70, I seek a different kind of connection compared to my younger self,” Turner explained.
“I believe I will find my perfect match, someone who will make my heart complete again. Our relationship will be unique and I don’t expect it to mirror my past with Toni,” he added. “It would be unfair to compare them.”
In addition to The Golden Bachelor, fans can rejoice as Bachelor in Paradise is making a comeback with its ninth season on September 28th at 9 p.m., right after The Golden Bachelor concludes.
These exciting premiere dates were announced as part of ABC’s revamped fall schedule.
