Porter Makes Exciting Comeback as Raptors’ New Coach and Reunites with Teammates

BURNABY, B.C. – Otto Porter Jr.’s tenure as a Toronto Raptor was limited to just eight games.

Following his season-ending foot surgery on January 10, 2022, the team underwent coaching changes and saw the departure of veteran players.

Despite the challenges, Porter plans to use his injury rehabilitation experience as motivation for the upcoming training camp and season.

“It’s a fresh start. New coaching staff, many new players,” said the 10-year NBA veteran. “We’re still figuring out our approach for the year.”

During his first year with Toronto, Porter averaged 5.5 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 18.3 minutes before being sidelined.

He missed the first seven games of last season due to a left hamstring strain sustained in training camp, followed by personal reasons.
