Authorities are actively seeking a man suspected of brutally killing his grandmother in her home in Markle, Indiana. The victim, 72-year-old Bernice Eubanks, was discovered lifeless in her residence on Nov. 12, with severe injuries caused by a sharp object, as revealed by the Huntington County Sheriff’s Office.
According to investigators, Eubanks had been deceased for some time before being found, leading to the identification of her 37-year-old grandson, Anthony Castleman, as the primary suspect in the murder case. A warrant for Castleman’s arrest on a murder charge is being pursued by detectives.
Reports indicated that Castleman fled Huntington County in an attempt to leave the state, prompting non-stop efforts by local and state law enforcement agencies to track him down. The Huntington County Sheriff’s Office declined to provide any further details on the ongoing investigation when approached by McClatchy News.
