Pokemon Go Players Blown Away as Fan’s Daughter Uses Master Ball on ‘Silly Weak Mon’

A Pokemon Go player’s child used a Master Ball to catch a common and weak Pokemon, shocking fans worldwide.

While most mainline Pokemon games only provide one reliable method to obtain a Master Ball, Pokemon Go fans can acquire multiple copies due to its live service nature. This allows the game to continue for years to come.

Master Balls are highly valuable as they guarantee a 100% catch rate for Pokemon in the wild. However, Niantic has tied the acquisition of Master Balls to expensive or difficult events.

Players usually reserve their rare and precious Master Balls for Shiny or Legendary Pokemon, which are known for their swift escapes, like the Galarian Legendary Birds.

A Pokemon Go player’s daughter used a Master Ball on Grubbin

A player shared a story on the Pokemon Go Reddit page about their daughter using a Master Ball to capture a Grubbin, a common overworld encounter.

One user commented, “Y’all gotta train your kids better. My five-year-old knows if she uses the purple ball, she has to move out,” while another said, “I hear the orphanage is nice this time of year.”

Using a Master Ball to catch a common Pokemon isn’t always a bad idea, especially if it turns out to be a Shiny variant, as Shiny Pokemon are extremely rare and valuable.

Unfortunately, the Grubbin that was caught wasn’t a Shiny, Shadow, or event variant. It was just a regular Grubbin, the kind of Pokemon seen every day and often ignored.

Nonetheless, this Grubbin now has a funny story attached to it and could still become cherished as part of someone’s Pokemon journey.
