Pimlico Plumbers loses out on significant sales – a costly flush!

Sales flushed away at Pimlico Plumbers

Pimlico Plumbers experienced a significant decline in sales last year as competing firms capitalized on the post-pandemic market.

According to documents filed at Companies House for Pimlico Plumbers Limited, its revenue dropped 11% to £45 million (on a pro-rata basis due to a change in accounting period).

The company attributed the decline to increased competition in the market.

Pimlico Plumbers was founded in 1979 by the flamboyant Charlie Mullins, who started working as a plumber after leaving school at 15 without any qualifications.

Based in London, the company has approximately 200 employees and serves a list of celebrity clients, including James Bond actor Daniel Craig, Dame Helen Mirren, and guitarist Eric Clapton.

The company’s profits surged to £73.5 million in 2022, but this was largely due to the sale of intellectual property worth nearly £74 million to another Pimlico Plumbers company.
