Pillow-Making Equipment Being Sold by MyPillow

MyPillow, the pillow-making company, is facing challenging times as its sales have plummeted due to its founder and CEO Mike Lindell’s support of Donald Trump’s election fraud claims. To cope with the decline in business, the company has decided to sell off some of its pillow-making equipment. Over 850 items of “surplus equipment,” including sewing machines and industrial fabric spreaders, were recently put up for auction on the site K-Bid, as reported by the Star Tribune. Additionally, MyPillow has started subleasing some of its manufacturing space in Minnesota, according to the Hill.

Mike Lindell, in an interview with the Star Tribune, stated that the company experienced a significant cancellation from major retailers, resulting in a loss of $100 million. Lindell blames this on “cancel culture,” with stores and channels like Walmart and shopping networks severing ties with MyPillow due to his public support for Trump’s claims. As a response, the company has shifted its focus to direct sales. Lindell also mentioned that if major retailers ever decide to work with MyPillow again, new equipment will need to be acquired. Despite the decline in sales, no employees have been laid off, although some may have chosen to switch roles within the company. They were given the opportunity to work at the MyStore online marketplace or the Lindell Recovery Network, an organization providing resources for addiction recovery.

In addition to these challenges, Lindell is currently facing lawsuits that have further impacted his business. Dominion Voting Systems is suing him for $1.3 billion for spreading conspiracy theories about the company’s machines. Furthermore, he has been ordered to pay $5 million to a man who debunked his claims at a “cyber symposium” in 2021. Despite these setbacks, Lindell has plans to host another event related to election issues in the coming month. (Read more MyPillow stories.)
