The shootings took place across several city blocks in the Kingsessing neighborhood. The suspect was apprehended after a chase and was found to be armed with an “AR-type rifle,” multiple magazines, a handgun, and a police scanner, along with his bulletproof vest. Police were notified by multiple sources of shots being fired in Kingsessing at around 8:30 pm. Upon their arrival, they discovered gunshot victims and began providing medical assistance. However, they soon heard more gunfire nearby. The suspected shooter, a 40-year-old man, was finally arrested after attempting to flee. Another individual was also taken into custody, who may have engaged in a shootout with the suspect. The police are currently investigating any potential connection between these two individuals. The crime scene spanned an area of approximately two by four blocks, and upon investigation, officers found numerous shell casings. Three of the deceased victims ranged in age from 20 to 59, while the fourth victim, who remains unidentified, was estimated to be between 16 and 21 years old.
