PFF Grades Reveal Troubling Performance: Brock Purdy and 49ers’ Defense Fall Short against Vikings – NBC Sports Bay Area & California

The San Francisco 49ers had a disappointing 22-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings on “Monday Night Football”, marking their second consecutive loss in Week 7. The mistakes made by the team were reflected in San Francisco’s PFF scores, highlighting the errors at each level of the game.

Despite having a strong passer rating of 145.3 when using play action, Brock Purdy only utilized play action on three of his 33 dropbacks during Monday night’s game. While he completed all three attempts for a total of 20 yards, Purdy struggled when under pressure. Under pressure, Purdy completed six out of nine attempts for 68 yards, threw two interceptions, and had a passer rating of 49.5. The Vikings’ defense also effectively limited Purdy’s favorite target area on the field, where he typically thrives in the 10 to 19 yard range. In Minnesota, Purdy only completed three out of seven attempts for 45 yards in this zone.
