Peter Navarro’s Response to Court Ruling: Attempting to Tear a Protester’s Sign

Peter Navarro, a former adviser to Donald Trump, is displeased that he cannot assert executive privilege during his trial for contempt of Congress, which begins on Tuesday.

In an attempt to release his frustration, Navarro tried to remove a demonstrator’s protest sign, but his plan did not go as intended.

Navarro was indicted in June 2022 for refusing to cooperate with a congressional investigation into the January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Despite Navarro’s claims that the former president “clearly invoked executive privilege” regarding their discussions about the 2020 election, Judge Amit Mehta ruled against him on Wednesday, according to ABC News.

During a hearing on Monday, Mehta dismissed Navarro’s privilege assertions as “pretty weak sauce” and stated that the ex-advisor had not provided specific evidence to support his claim of executive privilege.

Navarro appeared to be angered by the ruling when he spoke to reporters on the courthouse steps. While he initially criticized CNN, he soon found himself confronted by a woman holding a sign that read “Trump lost.”

The woman deliberately positioned the sign behind Navarro so that the news cameras would capture it. She also heckled him persistently.

“This is the problem we have in America,” Navarro said, as reported by The Hill. “She’s got ‘Trump Lost,’ and, you know, that’s fine. She’s expressing her point of view.”

Navarro continued to complain, especially after one of his supporters attempted to block the woman’s sign with an American flag.

“She’s got a megaphone to disrupt. But when it comes time for me to express my view with you, you’ve seen what she’s done,” Navarro lamented. “She’s interrupted me while I was speaking. And she won’t even let an American show the American flag.”

“Shame on you, ma’am,” he added.

Navarro attempted to grab the woman’s sign, but his efforts were unsuccessful, as shown in the video.

Navarro’s failed attempt to take the sign from the protester made him a target for ridicule on social media, especially after the protester reminded him that he is currently facing charges.
