June 29 (UPI) — Saturday Night Live alum and Bupkis star Pete Davisonson is undergoing treatment for borderline personality disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder at a Pennsylvania rehab facility, as multiple media reports suggest.
Davisonson was only seven years old when his firefighter father, Scott, tragically passed away in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack on New York City.
“Pete regularly goes to rehab for ‘tune-ups’ and to take a mental break, so that’s what’s happening,” stated an unnamed friend of his, according to the New York Post.
People.com also mentions an unnamed source confirming the news and adding that Davidson “should be getting out pretty soon.”
TMZ reports that the comedian’s girlfriend, Chase Sui Wonders, as well as his other friends, are providing support as he undergoes treatment.
This latest stint in rehab follows Davidson’s public apology for leaving a profanity-laced message on the voicemail of the head of the animal advocacy organization, PETA. He was also separately charged with reckless driving after crashing his car into a house in Beverly Hills, California.
Davidson has sought treatment in various facilities over the years. Most recently, in 2022, he sought help to deal with online harassment from Kanye West and his fans during his relationship with Kim Kardashian at that time. The couple has since broken up.
Additionally, Davidson’s sitcom Bupkis, which is loosely based on his life, has recently been renewed for a second season.
