Penn State and CUNY demonstrate the influence of woke culture on campus dynamics

In the battle against woke academia, we must remember the wise words of Margaret Thatcher: “This is no time to falter.” Unfortunately, leftist insanity continues to thrive in colleges nationwide. Take, for example, the case of Liliana Naydan, a former professor at Penn State, who believes that white supremacy is ingrained in the English language itself. It’s shocking to think that someone with such misguided beliefs would work in an English department at a public university, all while being paid by taxpayers.

Meanwhile, in Texas, biology professor Johnson Varkey, who had been teaching for 20 years, was dismissed from St. Philip’s College for stating a scientifically sound fact: that human sex is determined by X and Y chromosomes. This upset some students so much that they stormed out of his class, leading to Varkey’s termination on the grounds of “religious preaching.” It’s absurd to think that stating a biological fact can be grounds for dismissal.

These instances of irrationality don’t stop there. We see it in the commencement speech from CUNY Law graduate Fatima Mousa Mohammed, filled with anti-Israel conspiracy theories. It is disheartening that this speech was apparently approved by the university and that the board members have been slow to respond. And then there’s Emory University, investing millions of dollars into renovating their “Belonging and Community Justice identity spaces,” which are essentially racially segregated areas. It’s alarming that in 2023, we still have such spaces, let alone spend money to improve them.

Even the University of Oregon, a public institution, has a sex-toy shop listed as part of its “LGBT Education and Support Services.” It’s hard to believe these absurdities exist, but they do. The real concern is that these are the individuals responsible for educating our future citizens. Thankfully, there are leaders like Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida who are taking a stand against this nonsense by cutting public funding for divisive initiatives and woke propaganda in universities. It is crucial for other state executives to follow suit swiftly, as it will benefit the entire country.
