Patrick Dempsey, known as McDreamy from Grey’s Anatomy, has finally been named People’s Sexiest Man Alive. At 57, the actor expressed gratitude for the recognition, seeing it as an opportunity to use his platform for something positive.
When first told about the honor, Dempsey was shocked and initially thought it was a joke. Having left Grey’s in 2015, he later made a cameo and is set to appear as Italian driver Piero Taruffi in the upcoming film Ferrari. His striking white hair at the D23 Expo was a result of bleaching for the role.
Dempsey, an accomplished racer himself, revealed his aggressive pursuit of the role in Ferrari, referring to the script as the best he’s read in and around the motorsport world.
