Pacific Palisades Roadway Damage Receives Funding Approval from LA City Council

The Los Angeles City Council has voted unanimously to allocate $800,000 to address the water seepage and roadway damage on Temescal Canyon Road caused by heavy winter storms earlier this year. The motion aims to fortify and repair the road, which is located in Pacific Palisades.

Temescal Canyon Road is an important north/south thoroughfare that connects Sunset Boulevard to Pacific Coast Highway. Following the storms, the southbound lane between PCH and West Bowdoin Street has experienced structural instability.

To address these issues, the city administrative office has been instructed to secure funding for the Bureau of Engineering to carry out repairs and implement a mitigation plan for Temescal Canyon Road. Councilwoman Traci Park, who represents Council District 11 encompassing Pacific Palisades and other neighborhoods, was praised by a resident for introducing the motion.

“This road is vital for our daily commutes and serves as an evacuation route,” said Miriam Zar, a Pacific Palisades resident. Zar expressed hope that with the city’s assistance, the blocked lane will be reopened soon.
