Homes England initially claimed that no paperwork had been lost and added call centre staff to address the issues. However, this has not resolved the problems. Borrowers have been asked to resubmit application forms and other documents, causing further delays and anxiety. Many individuals are worried that the sale of their homes will be jeopardized due to the delays. Dealing with Homes England has been described as a “nightmare” by some borrowers who feel frustrated with the lack of case management and consistent information from the organization. The whole process feels Kafkaesque, with borrowers experiencing long waiting times, inconsistent information, and repeated requests for documents. The delays are causing significant distress and frustration for individuals who are already stressed by the home-buying process. Homes England and Lenvi have not responded to individual cases. Homes England has advised customers with imminent completions or expiring mortgage offers to contact customer service for priority assistance. They have also introduced extra staff and extended working hours to address the high demand. Lenvi has stated that they have experienced a significant increase in customer inquiries since taking over administration in June, but they are working on resolving the backlog and are seeing a reduction in call volumes.
