Fox News Exclusive: Los Angeles District Attorney Gascon Under Fire for Silence on Hamas Atrocities in Israel
Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon has come under scrutiny after 131 current and retired employees of the District Attorney’s office sent him a letter expressing their disappointment with his silence regarding the atrocities committed by the terror group Hamas against Israel. The employees, including Jewish attorneys and their colleagues, were appalled by Gascon’s lack of condemnation towards Hamas and urged him to provide an explanation.
The letter questioned why Gascon, who regularly comments on newsworthy events around the world, has failed to acknowledge or express condolences for the unimaginable acts of terrorism carried out by Hamas against civilians in Israel. It also highlighted Gascon’s posts on social media and training programs focusing on supporting victims of crime and vicarious trauma, questioning why he hasn’t offered counseling services to those affected by the conflict.
Following the receipt of the letter, Gascon addressed the war in Israel in an email sent to the entire District Attorney’s office. In the email, Gascon expressed his commitment to ensuring public safety and the protection of the community, stating that there is no justification for the senseless acts of violence against Israel. He conveyed his condolences to those impacted by the conflict and emphasized the importance of standing together to support one another.
However, some employees within the District Attorney’s office criticized Gascon for his initial silence on the matter. They accused him of constantly interjecting himself in political events but remaining silent on one of the worst terror attacks of our lifetime. They claimed that Gascon’s refusal to address the conflict was fueled by concerns about his political base.
Fox News Digital reached out to Gascon’s office for comment but has yet to receive a response.
