Outcome following contentious low blow and knockout

In a highly controversial fight in Poland, Oleksandr Usyk successfully defended his unified heavyweight titles against Daniel Dubois. The fight took a contentious turn in the fifth round when Dubois landed what appeared to be a legal shot to Usyk’s body, but was ruled as a low blow by referee Luis Pabon. Despite having up to five minutes to recover, Usyk only took four minutes before resuming the fight. In the later rounds, Usyk dominated with his jab and effective combinations, ultimately knocking Dubois down twice in the eighth and ninth rounds. The fight was waved off by Pabon after the second knockdown. The decision sparked controversy as many felt that Dubois was denied a legitimate knockout victory in the fifth round. Usyk, now looking ahead, expressed his desire to face Tyson Fury in his next fight. Dubois expressed his disappointment, believing he was cheated out of victory. The fight took place at Wroclaw’s Tarczynski Arena.
