Orca Attacks on Sailor Double, Claims They’re Becoming Faster

The orcas are becoming more efficient and organized in their attacks, according to a ship captain who has experienced two separate encounters with the marine mammals. Dan Kriz spoke with Newsweek about his experiences and mentioned that the most recent orca attack was swift, coordinated, and quiet. The orcas destroyed both rudders in record time, leading Kriz to believe that the creatures have developed a new strategy. He noted that a female orca was particularly aggressive and determined to finish the job. Marine biologists have linked the increase in orca boat attacks to a traumatized orca named White Gladis. But as attacks increase off the coasts of Spain and Morocco, experts urge sailors not to retaliate but remain calm and avoid disrupting the orcas’ activities.
