One Year Later: British Corgis Parade Outside Buckingham Palace in Commemoration of Queen Elizabeth II’s Passing

A delightful gathering of devoted royal enthusiasts and their beloved corgis took place on Sunday to commemorate the one-year anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s passing. Approximately 20 British monarchists and their corgis came together for a parade outside Buckingham Palace. This event holds special significance as the late monarch had an enduring affection for this breed, owning multiple corgis throughout her life.

Over the course of her lifetime, Queen Elizabeth owned approximately 30 corgis, many of which were descendants of a corgi named Susan. Susan was gifted to her on her 18th birthday in 1942. The parade captured adorable images of the corgis dressed in various outfits, including crowns and tiaras. The short-legged canines were photographed together, their leashes tied to the palace gates.

The organizer of the event expressed her hopes that this corgi parade will become an annual tradition. Agatha Crerer-Gilbert stated, “I can’t think of a better way to honor her memory than by celebrating the breed she loved and cherished throughout her life.”

Aleksandr Barmin, the proud owner of a corgi named Cinnamon, found the parade to be a poignant reminder of the Queen’s passing. He shared, “It’s a really difficult feeling… it’s truly saddening that we no longer have her physically with us. But Her Majesty the Queen will always reside in our hearts.”

The images from the parade depict Ruffus, a Cardiganshire Corgi, participating in the memorable gathering outside Buckingham Palace. This event served as a touching tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, a well-known admirer of the corgi breed.
