Offset and Quavo mend fences to pay tribute to their beloved late Migos member Takeoff on his birthday

Grammy-nominated artists Quavo and Offset put their differences aside to pay tribute to their late bandmate Takeoff. They held a lantern ceremony on Takeoff’s 29th birthday, wearing white shirts adorned with his face. Takeoff, whose real name is Kirsnick Khari Ball, was tragically shot in Texas on November 1. Quavo led the ceremony at Fourth Ward Park in Atlanta, where friends and family placed their hands on a lantern and offered a prayer. The lantern bore the words, “To those whose name has been extinguished, let this light represent our love and compassion. We will never forget you.” The emotional moment was captured in a video shared on Instagram.

In addition to the ceremony, Offset and Quavo took to social media to remember Takeoff. Offset posted a photo of Takeoff’s mural under the John Lewis Freedom Parkway Bridge, calling him the “greatest to touch a mic” and expressing his love. Quavo shared the sentiment, writing, “Miss you man [for real]!”

Also present at the event was Takeoff’s mother, Titania Davenport, who recently filed a wrongful death lawsuit against a Houston establishment for failing to provide adequate security. The lawsuit claims that the venue did not take appropriate measures to protect its guests.

It’s striking to think that just four months ago, Quavo and Offset were involved in a backstage brawl over Quavo’s Grammy Awards tribute to Takeoff. However, they managed to reconcile their differences and put on this beautiful ceremony in his honor. The incident serves as a reminder of the fragile nature of life and the importance of coming together to remember and celebrate our loved ones.

It is hoped that this ceremony provided some solace and closure for Takeoff’s friends and family as they continue to navigate the pain of his loss.
