Officials respond to tragic death of LASD Deputy

Elected officials, law enforcement, and other individuals throughout the Southland, and beyond, are responding to the tragic ambush killing of Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer. Deputy Clinkunbroomer was sitting in his patrol car at a red light near the Palmdale sheriff’s station when he was senselessly murdered.

Sheriff Robert Luna expressed his deep sadness and emphasized Deputy Clinkunbroomer’s dedication to serving the community. Luna mentioned that Deputy Clinkunbroomer was a beloved member of the community and came from a family of law enforcement officers. Luna promised to use all available resources to bring the suspects responsible for this heinous crime to justice.

Richard Pippin, vice president of the Association of Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs, mourned the loss of Deputy Clinkunbroomer and condemned the cruel act committed against him. Pippin highlighted the commitment and sacrifice made by law enforcement every day and called for the support of the community.

Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón mourned the loss of Deputy Clinkunbroomer and pledged to pursue justice. He commended Deputy Clinkunbroomer’s dedication to upholding the law and ensuring public safety.

Palmdale Mayor Laura Bettencourt referred to Deputy Clinkunbroomer as a hero and criticized the cowardice of the person who committed this act. She assured the community that the perpetrator would be caught.

Derek Hsieh, executive director of the Association for Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs, expressed outrage at the targeted attack against law enforcement and highlighted the seriousness of such incidents.
