NYC Grocery Chain Pulls Logan Paul’s Prime Energy Drink Amidst FDA Investigation

John Catsimatidis is taking proactive measures by removing a super-caffeinated energy drink, Prime Energy, from his stores even before the FDA conducts a review. Catismatidis is the CEO of grocery store chains Gristedes and D’Agostino. He made the decision after carefully assessing the health impacts of the drink.

Prime Energy contains 200 milligrams of caffeine, which is more than double the caffeine content in Red Bull and six times the amount found in a can of Coca-Cola.

Catsimatidis explained, “We value our customers, and we have concerns about the effects of Prime on children’s health, particularly its high caffeine levels and marketing strategies. Therefore, we will not stock it at this time. We may reconsider in the future but with warning labels.”

This beverage, launched by YouTube stars Logan Paul and KSI last year, has attracted significant attention and scrutiny from Senator Chuck Schumer. Schumer recently expressed his concerns about the potential dangers of the drink in a letter to FDA Commissioner Dr. Robert Califf.

Senator Schumer commented, “Prime has gained popularity through social media and the mysterious influencers’ world. Kids see it on their phones while scrolling and find themselves needing it. The problem is that it contains such high levels of caffeine that it surpasses Red Bull.”

According to Schumer, the drink is causing concern among parents and doctors.

The FDA initiated an investigation into Prime Energy after receiving Schumer’s letter.

The company has stated that the drink is not intended for anyone under the age of 18 and that it adheres to all FDA guidelines.
