As the third set progressed, Muller found some rhythm and held serve three times in a row. However, Djokovic raised his game and broke Muller’s serve to take a decisive lead. He sealed the victory with another break. In the next round, Djokovic will face unseeded Bernabe Zapata Miralles.

In other matches, Stefanos Tsitsipas defeated Milos Raonic, Casper Ruud triumphed over Emilio Nava after a hard-fought battle, Frances Tiafoe advanced with a comfortable victory over Learner Tien, and Taylor Fritz dominated against Steve Johnson. However, there was an upset as 15th seed Felix Auger Aliassime was defeated by Mackenzie McDonald.
