Members of the Philippine women’s football team proudly showcased themselves wearing full battle gear for their debut campaign in the Fifa Women’s World Cup, sharing photos on social media. The team participated in a photoshoot in New Zealand, not only posing for official tournament pictures but also taking the opportunity to show their fun and quirky side.
One notable post came from Carleigh Frilles, who uploaded a pre-tournament photo of herself along with an old picture wearing a replica version of the Philippine Azkals kit. Frilles expressed her excitement on Instagram, saying, “Dreams really do come true! Absolutely ecstatic to be representing the flag at our very first World Cup!! Para sa Bayan.”

The Fifa Women’s World Cup Twitter account also shared a photo of Olivia and Chandler McDaniel, who made a heart-shaped gesture. Sarina Bolden, the team’s top striker, chose one of the photos as her new profile picture on Instagram.
The photoshoot indicates that the Filipinas will wear their blue kits for their opening match against Switzerland on Friday in Dunedin. Quinley Quezada also followed Frilles’ lead, sharing a picture of herself in a uniform when she was six years old and expressing how proud she is of the team’s progress.
The team also has red and white kits provided by Adidas, the official outfitter for the Fifa Women’s World Cup.
