Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Nio has launched a new Android smartphone at an event in Shanghai. The phone is expected to be popular among Nio users, with CEO William Li stating that at least half of its user base is likely to purchase the device. Priced at around $900 to $1,000, the Nio smartphone is around $150 cheaper than comparable models from Huawei. Li also highlighted the phone’s overall performance and car connectivity as factors that will attract Nio users. The device comes with a special button that acts as a car key and allows for seamless integration with Nio vehicles. The Nio smartphone is an opportunity for the company to generate more revenue per user and provide a unique and emotional car experience. The phone will be available to all consumers in China, not just Nio car owners. Despite Nio’s recent delivery volume decline, the company reported a rise in monthly deliveries in August and July.
