Nick Carter, Backstreet Boys vocalist, confronted with a third sexual assault claim

On Monday, a lawsuit was filed in Las Vegas by the accuser, identified as AR, alleging that she was sexually assaulted by Nick Carter, a member of the Backstreet Boys, on multiple occasions in 2003 when he was in his early twenties. The complaint also states that Carter provided alcohol and drugs to her despite her repeated refusals and requests for him to stop. Legal documents obtained by Us Weekly describe the severe emotional distress, physical anguish, intimacy issues, and other complex trauma experienced by the plaintiff as a result of Carter’s sexual abuse.

It is claimed that the accuser informed her mother of the assault, who then reported it to Pennsylvania law enforcement. However, Carter never faced charges in relation to these accusations. Carter’s attorney, Dale Hayes Jr, has vehemently denied AR’s allegations, describing them as “ridiculous” and “meritless”. In a statement to TMZ, Hayes Jr emphasized that the accuser is repeating false allegations that hold no truth.

Nick Carter is already facing two separate lawsuits from Shannon ‘Shay’ Ruth and Melissa Schuman, a former member of the band Dream. In Ruth’s lawsuit, she alleges that she was sexually assaulted by Carter after he invited her onto his tour bus following a Backstreet Boys show in Washington. Ruth, who is autistic and has cerebral palsy, claims that Carter gave her a drink called “VIP juice” that tasted alcoholic and then coerced her into performing oral sex on him. Court documents further allege that Carter raped Ruth, who says she contracted HPV after the incident.

Carter’s attorney, Michael Holtz, has denied any wrongdoing on behalf of his client and stated that Ruth was manipulated into making false allegations. Holtz deemed the claim, which dates back more than 20 years, legally meritless and entirely untrue.

In April, Melissa Schuman filed a lawsuit accusing Carter of rape during their collaboration on a made-for-TV movie. Schuman initially went public with the allegations on her blog in 2017. Carter has denied Schuman’s accusations and expressed shock and sadness regarding the claims. He insists that Melissa never expressed any non-consent during their time together.

Carter has countered both Ruth and Schuman’s lawsuits, claiming they are opportunistic individuals seeking to destroy innocent lives by exploiting the #MeToo movement. The countersuit states that Ruth and Schuman engaged in a five-year conspiracy to defame and ruin Carter’s reputation for personal gain or to extort money from him.

In response to the countersuit, Ruth’s attorney Mark J Boskovich stated that a jury will weigh the evidence and make a decision on the veracity of Nick Carter’s claims.
