Nick Cannon Contemplating Disclosing Information About His Siblings to 6-Year-Old Son

  • Nick Cannon expressed his intention to inform his 6-year-old son, Golden, about his other siblings.
  • Golden is Cannon’s eldest child from his relationship with Brittany Bell, and he also has nine half-siblings.
  • During an episode of “The Language of Love” podcast, Cannon revealed that he believes Golden has already “figured it out.”

Nick Cannon is contemplating sharing the information about his numerous siblings with his 6-year-old son, Golden.

Golden is Cannon’s oldest child from his relationship with Brittany Bell, but Cannon has fathered nine more children with five different women.

In an interview on “The Language of Love” podcast, Cannon discussed his “very open” conversations with his two older children, 12-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, about his extensive family.

However, since his other children, except for Golden, are all under the age of 4, Cannon hasn’t had the opportunity to discuss the situation with them yet.

“I think now is the right time to start having… This has been a topic of debate within the family. When should we have a full and honest discussion with the 6-year-old because he’s incredibly intelligent,” Cannon stated. “I believe he has already grasped the concept.”

Cannon added, “He knows that he has other siblings. Even within our own household, he’s not the only child. He is aware of his older siblings, and he has spent time with the younger ones.” Cannon also has two other children, Powerful Queen (2 years old) and Rise Messiah (9 months old), with Brittany Bell.

“No one says, ‘Hey, this is your brother or sister.’ However, given the school he attends and his access to the internet, he knows that his dad is famous for having a large number of kids,” Cannon continued.

Cannon revealed that Golden has never directly asked him about having additional siblings, but the host of “The Masked Singer” wants to address the topic before another child brings it up at school.

“Nevertheless, I believe it won’t be a difficult conversation,” Cannon expressed. When it comes to explaining the family situation to Golden, Cannon said, “‘You know daddy already has many children. And while our bond is special and I appreciate it, I have other loving relationships that have resulted in other children as well.'”

Cannon further elaborated, “I would also ask him how he feels about it. I had to have that conversation with my 12-year-olds. It was a mixture of excitement and questions like, ‘Well, what about me?'”

According to Cannon, when he initially discussed the matter with Monroe, one of his twins with Mariah Carey, she asked if he loved her “the most.”

“Right, well, let’s have this conversation. You are my firstborn. You are unique,” Cannon recalls telling Monroe.

He continued, “We find something that’s exclusively theirs. I think every child desires that. However, I also believe that there may be some emotions they won’t immediately share with me, such as wishing for a different scenario or upbringing. When those feelings arise, we address them.”

Cannon currently spends time with each of his children separately, but he hopes that they will eventually reach a point where they can spend time together as a whole family.

“I believe it will happen. I’ve observed some of the more experienced individuals in the industry. Once the children reach an age where they can make their own decisions, it will happen,” stated Cannon.

Cannon added, “Since they are currently under the jurisdiction of their respective mothers, I abide by their rules. However, once they can make their own choices, I hope and pray that our relationship will be strong enough for them to want to spend time with me.”
