Aaron Rodgers’ torn Achilles wasn’t caused by his refusal to get vaccinated or his experimentation with ayahuasca. According to the injured New York Jets quarterback, anyone who believes such nonsense is a ‘bum’.

In his first interview since suffering a season-ending injury just four plays into his Jets career, Rodgers discussed his critics in the media with ESPN’s Pat McAfee: conservative Greg Kelly and liberal Keith Olbermann, both of whom he referred to as ‘bums’.

Kelly, the son of former New York City Police commissioner Ray Kelly, floated the theory earlier this week that Rodgers’ injury was the result of drug use and a lack of Christian faith on the part of the quarterback. Meanwhile, Olbermann playfully blamed Rodgers’ well-publicized refusal to get the COVID-19 vaccine for the injury.

“Go get your fifth booster, Keith,” Rodgers said of Olbermann before calling the former ESPN and MSNBC host a ‘bum’.

Rodgers’ debut for the New York Jets lasted around three minutes before he was sacked and taken out of Monday night’s game against the Buffalo Bills.

The 39-year-old has since undergone season-ending surgery on his lower leg.

‘Another #SuddenLisfranc due to failure to vaccinate,’ Olbermann wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, along with six syringe emojis.

Rodgers hit the headlines two years ago when he said he was ‘immunized’, only to later confirm that he was not vaccinated. Instead, Rodgers claimed that he took part in an ‘immunization process through a holistic doctor.’

The quarterback recently watched Novak Djokovic – another unvaccinated sports star – at the US Open, posting a picture in which a Moderna logo was crossed out. He also posted a goat emoji with the hashtag: ‘novaxdjokovic’.

Kelly, meanwhile, suggested that the true cause of Rodgers’ injury was his penchant for using psychedelic drugs and a lack of God in his life.

After claiming that he predicted disaster for Rodgers, Kelly also suggested that it’s impossible to be an elite quarterback and content at the same time.

‘He ruptured his Achilles tendon?’ Kelly asked. ‘Something like that? I totally saw this coming. I said it out loud, I can prove it to you tomorrow night. I’ll find the tape, it’s out there somewhere.

Kelly appeared to suggest the injury happened due to use of Ayahuasca and a lack of church.

Rodgers was sacked just four plays into his Jets career and is now out for the season.

Jets QB Aaron Rodgers completed surgery for his torn Achilles tendon on Wednesday.

‘This was gonna be a disaster. He lost the eye of the tiger. A competitive quarterback can’t be all happy and goofy all the time.’

Kelly continued: ‘Something happened to this guy, and I think I know what it was – DRUGS. He got involved in psychedelics.

‘This Ayahuasca tea – something like that that gives you this “oh, I love you bro” kind of mentality. It’s uh… it’s not good.’

After airing a portion of a podcast where Rodgers explains the benefits he experienced taking Ayahuasca, Kelly went on to say that if he wanted to find self-healing and self-love he should try going to church.

‘Whatever the hell he’s talking about, Ayahuasca tea is a crummy substitute for God,’ Kelly added.
