New Quavo Album: Includes Collaborations with Late Migos Rapper Takeoff

Quavious Keyate Marshall, known as Quavo, the US rapper and uncle of Takeoff, has announced the release of his album “Rocket Power” at midnight on Thursday.

The late rapper Takeoff, who tragically passed away, is featured on the singles “Patty Cake” and “Back Where It Begins” alongside fellow Georgia rapper Future.

The album’s tracklist includes other notable songs such as “Fueled Up,” “Turn Yo Clic Up” featuring Future, “Focused” featuring Young Thug, and “Stain” featuring Trap artists Hunxho and Baby Drill.

Quavo shared in a YouTube video back in July that his new album is fueled by the memory of his late brother. He described bottling his emotions, pain, and hard times, using them as inspiration for his music. Quavo referred to this inspiration as “rocket power,” a force coming from above.

In May, Quavo also mentioned on Instagram that “Rocket Power” served as his therapy. He expressed that the album truly reflects his current state of mind, acknowledging the ups and downs he experiences but finding strength and inspiration in the journey.

Unfortunately, Takeoff, also known as Kirsnick Khari Ball, lost his life due to a tragic shooting at a Houston bowling alley on November 1, 2022. The Houston Police Department later announced that a murder charge had been filed in connection with his death.

Takeoff was one-third of the Grammy Award-nominated rap trio Migos, alongside Quavo and Offset. Migos is renowned for their hit songs like “T-Shirt,” “Walk It Talk It” featuring Drake, and “Bad And Boujee.”

In October, Takeoff and Quavo released a joint album called “Only Built For Infinity Links.”
