This week marks the 10th anniversary of the arrival of Killer Instinct on the Xbox One. To honor this occasion, a new iteration of the game called Killer Instinct: Anniversary Edition is set to be released.
For those who already possess Killer Instinct: Definitive Edition, this new version will be available as a free upgrade, as the Definitive Edition is being retired. The Anniversary Edition boasts all 29 fighters, plus bonus content such as a VIP Double XP Booster, special holiday accessories, and more.
If you are not eligible for the free upgrade, the Anniversary Edition can be purchased for $29.99. However, please note that the Anniversary Edition will not include certain mature-rated content: the ‘Definitive Edition App’ and Xbox KI Classic 1 & 2. Nevertheless, if you already own the Definitive Edition, you can still download this content separately.
Steam will now offer a free-to-play base version of Killer Instinct, featuring 1 free rotating weekly fighter for use in single, local, and ranked play.
More details soon.
