National Blue Ribbon Honor Awarded to 18 LA/OC Schools: Celebrating Exceptional Education

Thirty-three schools in California were designated as National Blue Ribbon Schools by the U.S Department of Education. Of these, eighteen campuses in Los Angeles and Orange counties were recognized for their outstanding academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps among students from diverse backgrounds. This prestigious honor was bestowed upon a total of 353 schools nationwide.

Among the local schools that made the cut are:

– Martha Baldwin Elementary School in the Alhambra Unified School District

– Buena Terra Elementary School in the Centralia Elementary School District of Buena Park

– Charles J. Carver Elementary School in the ABC Unified School District of Cerritos

– Early College High School in the Newport Mesa Unified School District of Costa Mesa

– A.G. Cook Elementary School in the Garden Grove Unified School District

– Thomas Paine Elementary School in the Garden Grove Unified School District

– Horace Mann Elementary School in the Glendale Unified School District

– Glen A. Wilson High School in the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District of Hacienda Heights

– Los Molinos Elementary School in the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District of Hacienda Heights

– Mesa Robles School in the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District of Hacienda Heights

– Wedgeworth Elementary School in the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District of Hacienda Heights

– Crean Lutheran High School in the Pacific Southwest District School District of Irvine

– Grace Miller Elementary School in the Bonita Unified School District of La Verne

– Downtown Magnets High School in the Los Angeles Unified School District of Los Angeles

– San Jose Charter Academy in the West Covina Unified School District

– Susan B. Anthony Elementary School in the Garden Grove Unified School District of Westminster

– Leffingwell Elementary School in the East Whittier City School District

– Oceanview Elementary School in the East Whittier City Elementary School District
