“But once they gained traction, people started telling me how hilarious they were,” she added.
Ms Sturgeon chimed in, sharing the two phrases commonly used in the voiceovers: “My feet were killing me,” and “I was starving.” She revealed that these statements were often true as her feet would indeed ache, and she would genuinely feel hungry.
One of the highlights of these voiceovers was Ms Sturgeon’s signature phrase, “Frank! Get the door!” which became widely recognized and celebrated.
Intriguingly, Godley disclosed that the character of Frank was inspired by a man known for his fondness for “cowboy books,” whom she encountered during her time working in a pub.
