Must-See Classics: Discover the Top 5 Models at Goodwood Revival as We Commemorate 25 Years of the Classic Car Festival

Experience the mesmerizing sight of beautiful Ferrari’s, Corvettes, and Jaguar’s at this weekend’s Goodwood Revival. Immerse yourself in the celebrations, as this year’s festival commemorates a series of milestone anniversaries, making 2023 an unmissable year.

Not only does the Revival mark its 25th year, but it also pays tribute to 75 years since the opening of the iconic Sussex circuit in 1948.

Ferrari 330 GTO

Witness one of the rarest cars ever assembled by Ferrari as it takes to the track this weekend. The legendary 330 GTO, with less than five models ever built by the Scuderia in the early 1960s, was crafted to conquer endurance events like the Le Mans 24 Hours.

With a mighty 4-liter V12 engine capable of reaching speeds over 150mph, the 330 GTO stands as a masterpiece. Its design is a modified version of the Prancing Horse’s stunning 250 GTO chassis.

Corvette Stingray

For all the petrolheads out there, the C2 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is an absolute beauty that demands your attention this weekend. The nickname “Stingray” originated from the Q Corvette concept car, which sadly never made it into production.

A significant leap forward from its predecessor, the C1 Corvette, the C2 amazed audiences with its top speed of a whopping 140mph back in the early 1960s. With just over 100,000 models ever manufactured, the Corvette Stingray has firmly established itself as a defining classic of its era.

Jaguar E-Type

Renowned Italian carmaker Enzo Ferrari himself reportedly labeled the British manufacturer’s E-Type as the “most beautiful car in the world”. And it’s easy to understand why, with the E-Type enchanting audiences even after 60 years since its debut.

Born from the success of Jaguar’s racing team with the D-Type at Le Mans, the E-Type entered the market at just over £2,000. Today, these models can easily fetch prices topping £230,000, a testament to their timeless appeal.

Studebaker Golden Hawk

Prepare to be captivated by the stunning four-door touring car as it makes its second appearance at the Revival this weekend, following extensive restoration work. Previously driven by ex-F1 star Jochen Mass, who famously compared it to driving a “lead swan”, the Golden Hawk has undergone significant improvements.

Ewan Sergison, the current owner, obtained the car from Bruce Chapman. This time, the car will be skillfully maneuvered by former BTCC star and three-time Le Mans class winner Darren Turner, who has implemented a range of updates for enhanced performance.

Ewan explains, “Looking at the photos from 2014, Mass was sitting about six feet higher going round a left-hand corner as he is a right-hand corner because of the body roll.

“They’ve made a lot of alterations to the car to try to make it handle better after Jochen’s comments but it hasn’t been driven since. We’re the guinea pigs.”

Lola T70 Spyder

Prepare to be astonished by the speed and agility of the Can-Am machines as they conquer the legendary Goodwood circuit during the Revival weekend.

One of the most remarkable examples is the open-top Lola T70 Spyder, which dominated the sport in the 1960s.

In 1966, the T70 triumphed in five out of six races, with racing legend John Surtees securing the world championship. The T70 also left its mark in endurance racing, including a spectacular one-two finish at the 1969 24 Hours of Daytona.
