Elon Musk has introduced xAI, a new artificial intelligence company. Musk announced the establishment of this company on Wednesday with the objective of “understanding reality,” according to the BBC. In a tweet, Musk stated that xAI aims to tackle the most fundamental unanswered questions. The xAI website features a team roster, including Musk and engineers from respected tech companies such as Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI, the creators of ChatGPT chatbot.
Musk was initially involved with OpenAI but departed from the project in 2018 due to a potential conflict of interest with Tesla, as reported by The Verge. He has recently criticized OpenAI for its close ties with Microsoft, describing it as a “closed source, maximum-profit company.” The xAI website emphasizes its independence from Musk’s other ventures while expressing a commitment to collaborating with Twitter (X), Tesla, and other companies.
Bloomberg reported that Musk incorporated xAI in Nevada back in March. It is worth noting that Musk has reportedly acquired a large number of Nvidia processors for this new project.
