Murder Convict Successfully Breaks Free

In a determined effort to capture a recently convicted murderer, law enforcement agents embarked on a massive search operation on Friday. The man in question, Danelo Cavalcante, had escaped from a county jail in Pennsylvania. Not only is he wanted for the fatal stabbing of his ex-girlfriend in Pennsylvania, but he is also a prime suspect in another slaying in his native country of Brazil. With an international manhunt underway, authorities are considering Cavalcante to be an extremely dangerous individual. To aid in the search operation, drones, helicopters, and trained dogs are being utilized. Focusing on railways, waterways, and escape routes, attention is being given to every possible area where the fugitive could be hiding.

According to Chester County’s district attorney, Deb Ryan, authorities believe that Cavalcante is attempting to flee south. However, there is no concrete evidence to suggest that he has already left the area or if he is receiving help from accomplices. As a precautionary measure, residents in the surrounding area are urged to review any video footage captured by their doorbells or surveillance cameras for suspicious activity. They are also advised to thoroughly check their vehicles, sheds, and outbuildings. Moreover, they should be vigilant about their vacationing neighbors’ homes, ensuring that no cars, bicycles, or other means of transportation are missing, as these could potentially aid Cavalcante’s escape. Although the circumstances surrounding his escape from prison have not been disclosed, authorities continue to remain vigilant in their pursuit of the fugitive.

Cavalcante was convicted by a jury last month for the brutal murder of his ex-girlfriend, Deborah Brandao, in front of her children in 2021. For this heinous crime, he was sentenced to life imprisonment and was awaiting transfer to a state prison. Prosecutors have revealed that Cavalcante killed Brandao to prevent her from reporting the charges against him in Brazil, relating to a 2017 slaying. After Brandao’s murder, he was apprehended in Virginia, leading authorities to believe that he was attempting to flee back to Brazil. Cavalcante entered the US illegally, fleeing from Brazil to Puerto Rico following the 2017 murder for which he is also wanted. Described as 5 feet tall, weighing 120 pounds, and with curly black hair and a closely cropped beard and mustache, Cavalcante remains a grave threat to public safety.
