Aug. 31 (UPI) — The star-studded lineup for the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards just got even more spectacular with the addition of Doja Cat, Anitta, and K-pop sensation TXT to the performers. MTV made the announcement earlier today, confirming that Doja Cat, Anitta, TXT, Lil Wayne, and Kelsea Ballerini will grace the stage at this year’s VMAs.
Doja Cat is set to deliver an electrifying performance ahead of the release of her highly anticipated fourth studio album, “Scarlet.” The talented singer and rapper has garnered nominations in five categories, including the prestigious Artist of the Year.
Anitta will team up with TXT for a groundbreaking VMAs stage debut. The collaboration between the Brazilian superstar and the K-pop sensation promises to be an unforgettable moment. TXT will also treat fans to the premiere of their brand new single during the event.
In another exciting highlight, Lil Wayne will captivate the audience with the first live performance of his new track “Kat Food,” which is scheduled for release this Friday.
Previously announced performers include Demi Lovato, Karol G, Måneskin, and K-pop group Stray Kids, while global superstar Shakira will take the stage to deliver a mesmerizing performance and receive the prestigious Video Vanguard Award.
The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards will be held on September 12th at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. Leading the pack with eight nominations is none other than Taylor Swift, followed closely by SZA with six nominations.
