Motorcyclist Fatally Injured in Collision with Car Driven by DA Investigator, Aged 29

A tragic incident occurred in Riverside as a 29-year-old lost his life in a motorcycle accident involving an on-duty investigator from the Riverside County District Attorney’s office. The collision took place at the intersection of Arlington and Rutland avenues at approximately 7:50 p.m. on Tuesday. Immediate response was provided by the Riverside Police Department and Riverside Fire Department paramedics. Officer Ryan J. Railsback, spokesperson for the RPD, shared the details of the incident.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the motorcyclist, traveling westbound on Arlington Avenue, collided with the investigator’s vehicle when it was making a left turn into an Arlington Avenue driveway. The motorcyclist’s excessive speed was determined to be a contributing factor in the fatal accident.

Out of respect for the family, the identity of the motorcyclist is being withheld until family members are notified. Fortunately, the district attorney’s investigator escaped unharmed.
