My baby’s journey with a rare liver disease began when he was only 3 months old. The diagnosis was terrifying, but thanks to the incredible medical team, he received a life-saving liver transplant after a two-month hospitalization.
I am humbled and overflowing with gratitude for everyone who played a part in saving my baby’s life. From the selfless organ donor and their family to the skilled doctors and, especially, the exceptional nurses, each person’s contribution was invaluable.
But it was the nurses who truly touched my heart and provided comfort during the most challenging times. Their compassion and humanity were remarkable. Despite their busy schedules, they took the time to talk with me, offer reassurance, and share information about our journey with liver disease. Their presence was a constant source of emotional support.
