Missouri Kidnapping Case Takes a Sinister Turn

Missouri authorities had been searching for Jaynie Crosdale since January. She was believed to have information about Timothy Haslett Jr.’s alleged abduction of a 22-year-old woman who claims she was held captive in his home for a month before managing to escape. In a disturbing turn of events, Crosdale’s body has now been discovered. Kayakers found human remains inside a barrel in the Missouri River, which have since been identified as Crosdale’s, according to NBC News. Crosdale was considered a potential witness in the kidnapping case against Haslett. During a recent hearing, prosecutors revealed that she had been inside the suspect’s home prior to his arrest in October.

Prosecutors requested an increase in Haslett’s bond following the identification of Crosdale’s remains, but their motion was denied. While prosecutors do not believe Crosdale and the victim knew each other or crossed paths, they do suspect that Crosdale had some form of contact with Haslett before the victim escaped his home, as reported by KMBC. Crosdale was found inside a blue barrel, which shares similarities with the blue barrels observed outside Haslett’s residence at the time of his arrest last year. (Read more Missouri stories.)
